Lake Lanier, GA

Following up on one of yesterday's posts, the AJC now has a "count down" clock for the time remaining until Lake Lanier becomes a dirt bowl.  The clock is described by the AJC as:

"A snapshot on the amount of water left in Lake Lanier's primary supply pool. The days left indicate how many more days of stored water remains for downstream needs, including metro Atlanta's easily accessible drinking water and treated sewage needs, as well as for power plants. Losses or gains vary from day to day."

131 days would put us around April 10th.  Guess what also happened on April 10th (in 1912)? The Titanic left Southampton on its first (and only) voyage.  Crazy.

On the brightside, nobody will drown at Lake Lanier next Memorial Day weekend.

Both better punch lines than what I put on there. Was "crazy" really the only thing that I could come up with?

On April 10, 1847 Joseph Pulitzer was born. Chilling. (April 10th might actually be the most boring day in history)
